DaNeil's Brain Tumor Recovery Fund

DaNeil & Robert Brooks really need your help. URGENT NEED! Please read and share: DaNeil has been out of work since January due to the debilatating migraines prior to having the brain surgery. We didn't find out until recently that the short term disability is not going to pay anything for her time out. Her long term disability finally approved her leave. This is helping but we are so behind it's just not enough. This GoFundMe campaign and the gifts of a few friends and family given outside the campaign is the only income that we have been living on since January until the LTD began. DaNeil is doing physical therapy to get her strength back, but after having been mostly bed-riden for 2 months prior to surgery and then the recovery after the surgery, it is proving to take a lot longer than expected.  Today (June 5, 2018) we found out that DaNeil has a 7 mm kidney stone in her left ureter! We are hoping she can pass it on her own, but the doctor isn't so sure. If not, that will be another surgery very soon. This is also hindering her PT. (Update: surgery to remove the stone was successful but has really set her back.) The most pressing needs right now are medical bills, housing expenses (especially house payment, utilities). We are trying very hard not to lose our home but also looking into other options should that become necessary.  This whole process has been an unbelievable lesson in humility for us. While no one wants to tell the world their troubles like this, if we hadn't, no one would have known how to help us. It has been a long road, but she is recovering very well!  Original post: DaNeil Brooks has a brain tumor and is scheduled to have surgery to remove it on March 20, 2018.  Her neurologist and neurosurgeon have been monitoring closely since 2011, but over the past year, the number of debilitating migraines has increased drastically. The most recent MRI shows a lot of swelling around the tumor so the neurosurgeon is saying that it is “semi-urgent” to have surgery to remove it very soon.  Her husband, Robert is disabled from Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO), a very rare neurological disease that causes varying degrees of blindness and paralysis.  Robert & DaNeil have been living off of her decreased pay and the small amount that he has been able to bring in with his small DJ business that he operates from home.
