Robert K. Biesecker, 72, of Gettysburg, PA died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, December 20, 2017.
He was born August 27, 1945 in Gettysburg, PA the son of the late Roy and Mary Wetzel Biesecker.
Bob was a very active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church serving on the CYO, PTO and various other committees. He was a 1963 graduate of Gettysburg High School. He had served in the Pennsylvania National Guard. Mr. Biesecker started his career in the IT Department of Bankers Insurance Co., and Blue Cross Corp. Then his career brought him to Mount St. Mary’s University where he upgraded their IT Department. Following Mount St. Mary’s he worked at Hanover Brands in Hanover, PA. He finished his career at the FCC in Gettysburg, retiring in 2012. While he enjoyed his work, Bob’s greatest joy came from his family, spending time watching his children and grandchildren’s activities.
Mr. Biesecker is survived by his wife, Victoria Shetter Biesecker, seven children; James Biesecker and his wife Rebecca of Gettysburg, PA, Andrew Biesecker of Gettysburg, PA, Philip Biesecker and his wife Tracy of Gettysburg, PA, Thomas Biesecker and his wife Nicole of Biglerville, PA, Joseph Biesecker and his wife Christina of Lancaster, PA, Gregory Biesecker and his wife Nicole of Camp Hill, PA, Kathryn St. Clair and her husband Darren of Gettysburg, PA, seventeen grandchildren; Justin Reneker and his wife Tia, Taylor Reneker, Lance Reneker, Alex Biesecker, Emily Biesecker, Diana Biesecker, Cole Biesecker, Anais Biesecker, Caleb Biesecker, Samuel Biesecker, Kylie Biesecker, Caryn Biesecker, Dayton Biesecker, Blake Biesecker, Lucas Biesecker, Madelyn Biesecker, Nora St Clair, a great grandchild, Carson Reneker, two sisters; Audrey Kunkel and her husband John of Conway, SC, Carol Anderson and her husband Keith of Texas, a son-in-law, Mark Reneker and his wife Katie of Dillsburg, PA and a brother-in-law, H. Richard Clark. He was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Reneker and a sister, Gloria Clark.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM from St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, High Street, Gettysburg with Fr. Daniel Mitzel celebrant. Interment will be in the church cemetery. There will be a viewing at Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg on Tuesday, December 26th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Wednesday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. Donations will be evenly divided between Saint Francis Xavier, the Marfan Foundation and the Dayton and Blake Biesecker Special Needs Trust.
