Guatemala Medical Mission

Donation protected
Dear friends,

As part of my summer nursing course at JBU, I have been given the opportunity to fulfill a portion of my required clinical hours by working with vulnerable populations in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Our team will consist of a small portion of senior  nursing students, a registered nurse, and a professor from JBU's business department who has actively participated in outreach trips to Guatemala City for almost 25 years.

For two weeks, we will work alongside Guatemalan native Dr. Layla Chanquin, as we see patients in her clinic as well as in local schools and homes. We will be promoting health education, helping with patient care, distributing medication, monitoring growth and health of Guatemalan students, and providing home care for people suffering from respiratory, gastrointestinal or other health-related issues.

We depart on May 26th and return on June 9th.

This will be the second medical missions trip I will have gone on in my student nursing career. It will futher my education and experience in providing nursing care outside of the country, allow me to learn alongside an incredible group of people, and provide nursing care and education that may otherwise not be received to vulnerable populations in Guatemala City.  And, I just really want to go!

Your support will make this trip possible.

Please consider partnering with me on this mission through giving a financial gift, through spreading the word, and through prayer. <3

Thank you for your genorisity! Updates to come.
