Robbery victim in NEED!

On September 26th, my friend, Rod, came home to find his 1 bedroom apartment had been broken in to. We live in a small community in Northern California (Loyalton, CA) with a population of roughly 1,000 people. Everyone knows everyone here and in general everyone is kind and helpful. My friend had his life savings stolen from his apartment. Including thousands of dollars that had taken a long time to save. Rod is 63 years old, lifelong resident of Loyalton and Portola and disabled living in a senior housing apartment.  He had very little to his name of monetary value.  He is disabled from a botched back surgery that left him crippled and currently awaiting another back surgery to replace his stimulator that is nearing its shut off date. He needs a surgery next month and then this happens. Although that is unfortunate, what's more unfortunate is that this man lives alone and on a $834 a month fixed income Social Security disability check. His heart is broken and his emotional well-being is shattered. I am so angry at the people responsible and while we hold out hope for their capture, the police literally have no video or other credible evidence to help them in their search. I am asking anyone who can help, including friends and family to please give what they can. Although he doesn't like to be a "charity case" (his words), to me he isn't. He's my best friend and I hate everything that has happened. It is my intention to do whatever I can to raise back what he had stolen from him. He is roughly 25 years older than me, but he is the kindest, most generous man I have ever met. He IS my best friend. He spends his time playing on his local church's worship team and helping others with his knowledge of small engines.He was literally left with the $153 he had in his bank account. Please, to anyone reading this who has the ability to give anything, please do. I thank you profusely. I know that good things will happen to good people. Rod is a GREAT person. Thank you again.
