Rob Sarofeen- Accessible Van

Rob Sarofeen has faced more adversity than most of us will ever know in a lifetime.
Still, somehow, every year that I can remember, Rob has “rolled in” (pun intended) for the Team Smitty annual card tournament with a kind spirit and a positive attitude. When my brother Mike passed, he took a lead in doing something very special for his kids. He has always been a supporter and a friend, both to my family, and to our collective community as a whole. He is a fixture at almost every fundraiser I have attended.
The tide has turned and we all have a chance to give back to him!
I recently learned that Rob is need of a new handicap accessible van and could use some help to alleviate some of the enormous cost he is staring at (used is approx. $65,000). When we connected, I asked about the van and I hope this is all you need to read to consider helping this cause:
****“An accessible van is my only true route to independence and
a sense of normalcy. Driving my own van means being a dad, an
employee, an errand runner and in its simplest form being an
active member of society.”****
Rob, as well as the rest of the Sarofeen crew are great people. His story is an amazing one, though the hand he got dealt at some times seems not to be. I remember him in our earlier years being a great hockey player and a determined SOB and the determined part never went away.
This Go Fund Me was not solicited, but I am certain that we can help him by working together. I know that I and many of you would love to help him. Please consider something… anything… and show your support.
