Rob Rebuilds: Tragic Fire Takes Pets, Ruins Home

Hi -- my name is Ashley Boynes-Shuck and I am raising money for my Uncle and Godfather, Robert Boynes (originally from Pittsburgh) and his 10-year-old son, my cousin Reichen, who live in Las Vegas, Nevada.

On Friday, a devastating house fire ravaged their home and tragically took the lives of their pet bird and their beloved Airedale Terrier dog, Shelby, as well. Thankfully, Rob & Reichen are okay.

To say this event has been traumatic, heartbreaking, and stressful for them, however,  and sad for the entire family,  is an understatement.  

My uncle will be facing unfathomable expenses and many of Reichen's toys and belongings are gone, but material loss and financial burdens are only a part of this.

There are many losses from irreplaceable sentimental mementos, to the loss of life for their beautiful pets, to memories of family and childhood, that simply cannot be replaced. This was the home Reichen came home to, the home where my Grandma spent her final days, and a beautiful home that my uncle took pride in decorating and taking wonderful care of. It was the home to people and to pets, a home filled with love, and much of it has now been reduced to smoke stains and ashes.

This is everyone's worst nightmare.
