Rallying for Rob John

Donation protected
How to begin to describe this husband, father, friend, brother, uncle, role model, engineer and tri-athelete? We can do so by just calling him our “steamrolling superhero”. Rob John has recently been propelled into a lifesaving marathon sprint, and we who know and love him have decided to join him in this race.

A few weeks ago, Rob was diagnosed with stage IV Melanoma. Currently, he is entangled in the initial web of figuring out his path forward towards a cure. Like him,  we will accept nothing less than first across the finish line; a cure and clean bill of health for his future.

Although any cancer diagnosis is daunting, to find out that you have cancer which has progressed to the later stages can be a challenge. What is important to realize is that in the past few years, it is not just talk anymore about hope for extension of life for these patients. Rob hopes to receive most of his treatment and care locally, however, in order for Rob to find the best treatment, he may have to travel outside of Rochester for his best options. We are asking for any assistance you may be able to provide to help us to provide him with whatever he needs so that he will not be limited in his choices.

Rob has always been an accomplished athlete and has used his abilities to raise funds for such causes/events as: The Ride For Missing Children, Tour de Cure for Diabetes, Pennies for Breast Cancer, Tour de Teddy for Camp Good Days, as well as organizing for years Thanksgiving food baskets for the Greece Food Shelf. Now its time to give back to the man who has given so much to everyone else.

We are asking that you join the race to the finish line along with them in order to ensure a happy and healthy future for him and his family. Our goal in raising funds for Rob and his family is to provide financial support for co-pays, diagnostics/testing, medications, therapies and travel/living expenses for himself and his family. We intend the funding to go towards any financial hurdles he may encounter in order to get the best treatment possible. Should there be any funds that he does not utilize, we assure you that they will go towards a charity of his choice to support others in their race for life.

Muhammad Ali once said, “It isn’t the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it’s the pebble in your shoe.” Please help us to keep the pebbles out of Rob’s shoes while he climbs this mountain.

Thank you in advance for your love, support and consideration in helping us to support Rob in this way.
