David, a unilateral amputee, is a two-time Paralympian and London 2012 Bronze Medalist. He has broken three world records in his career in the 200m and 400m sprint. In fact, David was the first unilateral amputee to run the 400m race in under 50 seconds. Recently, David won Gold at the 2019 ParaPan American Games in Peru and Bronze at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai for the 200m T64 race.
Davids wife, Jennifer, is a graphic designer and marketing professional. Jennifer has been in the design and marketing field for 8 years and has held positions as head of design and marketing. Today, Jennifer uses her design and marketing skills on promotional efforts with David. The hope is to create a new era of sports marketing gears specifically for adaptive athletes. Road Trip to Tokyo will be the door used to bring that hope closer to reality.
Your gifts will help bring dreams to life not only for Jennifer and David, but for countless future adaptive athletes. In addition, this will bring the amazing athleticism of adaptive sports to a larger audience. This isn't about one story of inspiration, this is about an entire movement that will change the very well culture views spectator sports and athletes as a whole.
