On what was supposed to be a fun family vacation in Utah, our lives changed in an instant.

Our sweet 9-year-old daughter, Remi, was involved in a tragic side-by-side UTV accident that caused devastating trauma to her right hand. Despite every effort to save it, Remi underwent a complete amputation of her right hand.

We are currently at Sunrise Children's Hospital in Las Vegas, where Remi is receiving incredible care. Our immediate focus is getting her stable and comfortable so that we can safely fly home to Indiana in the coming days. Once we return home, Remi will begin the next stage of her journey at Riley Children's Hospital, where she will receive specialized care, rehabilitation, and begin exploring prosthetic options.

Right now, there are so many unknowns. We don't yet know the full extent of the medical expenses, travel costs, rehabilitation, prosthetics, or the long road ahead. Because of that, we're asking for help as we navigate this unexpected chapter. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden and allow us to focus on what matters most—helping Remi heal.

So many people have reached out asking how they can help. If you're unable to donate, we ask that you please continue praying for Remi and our family and share this fundraiser with others. We also encourage handwritten cards for Remi. We know hearing from so many people who love and support her will lift her spirits during the difficult days ahead. We will also send out an Amazon wish list to help get items for Remi to make her life a little easier.

If you know Remi, you know how strong, determined, and active she is. Even after everything she's been through, she's already telling us she's ready to get back on the soccer field and be active again. That fighting spirit is exactly who she is, and we are committed to doing everything we can to help her regain her independence, including getting her fitted with a prosthetic when the time is right.

We are unbelievably proud of you, Remi. You are the strongest person Mommy knows. Your courage has inspired everyone around you, and we know you will continue to amaze us every step of the way.
