Road to recovery for jimmy thompson
Donation protected
Jimmy is a 27 year old father of 4 currently on life support in John’s Hopkins. Last week his entire life changed as he quickly went from being “sick” to now being on full life support. What started as pneumonia turned to a blood clot in his lung. From there his body took a downward spiral. Jimmy’s organs are shutting down. The culprit is his heart. The doctors stated his heart is “shot”. Jimmy’s heart is pumping blood into the heart but not pumping the blood out which is essentially starving all of his other organs which are causing them to die. The doctors inserted an impala implant in his leg to assist the heart’s blood flow, which will hopefully help his organs start working on their own again. Jimmy is currently on dialysis for his kidney failure, an impala to pump blood for his heart and a breathing tube to make sure he keeps receiving enough oxygen and medication for his liver. Jimmy is going to have a very long and challenging road ahead of him, but with the help of friends, family, and the medical staff at John Hopkins we are hoping he will make a recovery. This GoFundMe is being created because of two reasons. First, the long recovery road in front of him will be extremely expensive, and as he is the sole provider for the family, he will need help with paying these medical bills. Second is that Jimmy’s family wants Jimmy to be a reminder that if you are sick, GO TO THE DOCTOR and push for treatment. You know your body! Hopefully through the help of the wonderful doctors, support, and help of friends and family and anyone who can help, Jimmy will make it through this awful tradegy. This is going to be an extremely long and challenging road for Jimmy, so any donation at any time is appreciated, and if you can’t donate please just share and spread the word to help Jimmy get through his recovery.
