Help our beautiful friend fight lymphatic cancer
Many years ago, during my college years, I got lucky to become friends with one amazing family from Sukhumi, Abkhazia (Georgia). Three sisters... Lali, Manana and Keto, and their parents.
I spent many beautiful summers there, and they visited me in Moscow. I fell in love with their land, culture but most of all - this incredible family which they made me feel like I was a part of. And I still remember that feeling. As an only child I never had siblings, so they became my sisters.
When Igor and I came to visit them for the first time together, Igor was also taken by their warmth and caring natures and understood how important a role this family played in my life.
The Baramia family went through a very difficult time during War in their country. They lost everything and became refugees back in 1994. Igor & I invited Keto, her sisters and her 3 month old baby son to come live with us for a year during the tragedy. It was a bonding experience and we grew even closer.
Time moved us on and we emigrated to the United States, while the Baramia family stayed to live in Moscow. But we remained friends, inseparable by time and distance.
Keto, mother of two, successfully fought Breast Cancer but now, years later, it came back as Lymphatic Cancer, which requires urgent treatment. Unfortunately, the family does not have enough financial resources to continue radiation/chemotherapy. Their 90-year-old Father is crying all the time because he can’t help “his beautiful daughter.”
We wanted to ask our friends and family to, please, help our dearest friend and sister KETO - so she can continue this lifesaving treatment!
