Ripley's Vet bill and after care

On Thursday 8/17/17 my 11 week old Vizsla puppy escaped under the fence between my yard and my neighbors yard.  He wanted to play.  He was tied up with a leash at the time and the kids were outside.  The dogs on the other side of the fence attacked him.  We almost lost him.  I rushed him to the vet, and then the animal hospital.  He spent 3 days in the hospital, 2 of which were concidered ICU.  He was in an oxygen chamber for 2 days.  He has bruising on his lungs along with severe bites along his entire neck. The vet thought he had a tear in his trachea and a broken neck.  Thankfully he did not.  His breathing was labored and he sounded like a barking seal as he breathed.  He came home Saturday night.  He is on pain medication, anti-inflammatories and antibiotics.  He has stitches all around his neck and 3 drains on the underside of his neck.  This poor little pup is lucky to be alive.  
The kids were all outside as this happened, they were heart-broken.  We are happy to have him home, but the medical expenses will soon be coming in, along with his follow up.  We did have pet insurance and they will cover $500 and the neighbors have contributed $500 to Ripley's medical expenses as well.  If there is any funds left after all of his medical bills are paid, it will be used to better secure the yard for Ripley and any training or behaviorist that may be needed for his follow up care plan. 
We are very greatful for the animal hospital for all they have done for Ripley, however they have requested to not be contacted for information about Ripley.
