Life is short, there’s no doubt. We’re brought into this world and then we leave it. It’s messy and wonderful and heartbreaking. Hope, makes us believe that the inevitable meeting with death will come after a long life of money in our pockets and a white picket fence. It’s a pretty picture. But we all know things don’t always go as plan.
The brutality of life is perhaps why some are content with embracing what is provided, while others seek life to the fullest. How, there are those in this world that we are drawn to, a magnetic burning presence that leaves us breathless. Chantelle was like that.
When she walked into a room it left everyone, even for the briefest moment captivated. She was beautiful and bright and maybe it was the way she stomped her feet as she walked, she was mesmerizing. Her eye crinkling smile was contagious and if you were lucky enough to laugh with her, your cheeks would be raw from her snorting laughter. But the best, the truly beautiful part of her was her spirit. She took life to its fullest and loved wholeheartedly.
On June 29, 2018 Chantelle was shot and killed inside her car. She was 26.
People die everyday, yes it’s true. No matter how much we may fight to change this, its an irreversible fact of life. But to be robbed of life, a life so young, words can not describe. The monsters who stole her life may never meet justice so I ask you... no implore you to help the Almeida family. Any donations to her funeral proceedings will be greatly appreciated. No parent should have to bury their child.
