Relief for Rina

Rina is a spunky, exuberant 12 year old who has been dealing with chronic pain for the last several years. She has amniotic band syndrome which has resulted in the amputation of her right foot and a severely malformed left foot. She is asking us to amputate her left foot because the pain is so severe. However, we believe the foot can be saved and pain eliminated or at least, decreased significantly. Her spinal cord condition and her complex regional pain syndrome complicate treatment. She has been treated by a number of physicians in Texas, but still is enduring pain every day. We have recently learned of the renowned Paley Institute in West Palm Beach, Florida and have reached out to them with details of Rina’s case. They want to see her, but unfortunately, they do not take her insurance. If they can help her, they will fight for a signal case agreement for treatment, but first she must be evaluated. We are hoping to raise funds to offset travel and the physician’s fees to evaluate her. Rina never loses her smile, but she has lost her ability to run track, take gymnastics classes and dance classes. We want to give these experiences back to her!
