Help Riley Run!

Hi Everyone!
My name is Kiersten & my sister’s name is Riley! The purpose of this page is to raise the funds to purchase a specific, customized jogging stroller for my sister to enjoy.
My little sister Riley is a beautiful, sweet, smart, funny, caring girl but unfortunately suffers from severe autism and major developmental & neurological deficits. Riley is 9 years old now & although she a very determined girl, she has been diagnosed with aphasia which is a language impairment, affecting her production and comprehension of speech & her ability to read and write. She is currently 100 percent non-verbal, which makes it nearly impossible for her to make her needs known.
Riley enjoys many things in this life but nothing makes her scream with excitement, laugh & smile like being pushed in a stroller, fast! And I mean, you really gotta RUN! So often, Riley will stand at the door and point to her current stroller sitting outside, wanting to go for a long, fast run or jog. The positive part is that my Mom and myself are both physically able to run while pushing a stroller BUT there is still one problem. Riley is large, tall and growing rapidly. Her current stroller is very heavy, very bulky & made for “strolling,” definitely not running, jogging or even power-walking.
The stroller required for Riley to be ran in must be customized due to her height & weight. She currently weighs about 83 lbs. & is almost 5 ft. tall. It would also require specialized hand brakes because of her size. Another extremely important feature that this stroller must have is something called a 5-point harness. Which is a secure seat belt so that Riley will be unable to leave the stroller on her own, at any time. It is for her own safety. These things make what would normally be a “simple” stroller, very expensive & it isn’t something that just be picked out and bought at a local store. It will actually be considered a “wheelchair.”
It certainly kills us inside & is very disappointing, but at this point in time, my family & I are unable to collect the extra funds to afford this special stroller, for my sweet sister. It would be an absolute miracle to be able to, with your help, purchase this jogging stroller for Riley. Solely, to see her wide, bright smile, hear her sweet laughs & watch her hair blowing in the wind! If you can help Riley, it would mean the absolute world to her & our whole family.
Thank you so very much.
