Riley Cook's road to 2020 Olympics

Donation protected

For those of you who do not know, Riley Cooks has emerged as a legitimate contender to participate in the 2020 Olympics. Riley’s next hurdle to Tokyo is in France. Bear with me for a very abbreviated Bio and information.

Riley stood out as an athlete from Yosemite High School, however, she only began her Track and Field Career at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo Ca. In her first year, Riley placed 2end in the State Jr. College circuit and in her 2nd year she placed #1 and shattered records. She went on to Long Beach State also shattering records in the Heptathlon and received numerous accolades. Riley graduated from Long Beach in 2017 with her degree.  After a short rest and being nudged by the universe that her talents can take her to the next level, Riley decided to go for it! Riley is currently holding at 4th in the Nation and she is in the hunt!!!

The Heptathlon consist of a 7 event competition held over 2 days. Each event is scored per performance and combined to determine the overall score. The highest score is the WINNER! She just came in 3erd place in Italy at her FIRST International meet. The 7 events include; 100 meter hurdles, 200 meter sprint, 800 meter, javelin throw, shot put, long jump and high jump. Unlike single event athletes, Heptathletes require perfecting ALL 7 events and ALL in the same meet! This requires hours and hours of training and dedication. As Riley has now advanced to this high level of competition, she is in need of an advanced level of resources.  For example, she was just informed that she has qualified for the ‘Decastar Combined Events Competition’ in France! In 4 weeks! (Decastar.fr-for more information, be sure to click on the British flag in the top right corner for English) It’s a big deal! But, while they pay room and board, she and her trainer have to pay for their own airfare. Also, at this level, she will need to spend more time with her trainer as well as a sports therapist to maintain her precious health. She will need equipment. 7 events = 7 specialty track shoes. (she has been nursing the ones she has) She will need her own javelin and shot put (she was using loaners) and a variety of miscellaneous stuff, including travel that comes with it.  This is what the road to Tokyo looks like. With that being said, Roosevelt and I have and will continue to provide as much as we can, however, we need to reach outside our means to look for additional resources. We humbly wanted to throw it out there to all her supporters and future fans that if anyone is interested and able to assist Riley with a donation she and we, would greatly appreciate it! Riley will report out on how the funds are utilized as well as her progress. We hope you all can make it to the Olympic trials in Oregon next year to cheer her on!  #TEAMRILEY #RELEASETHEBEAST. Please google Riley for a proper biography. Also, make sure to follow her on Instagram @rileycooks

Respectfully, Roxie and Roosevelt Cooks.
