Go Fund Me page started by my incredible Mom- My Story by Richard Guzzetti Jr

My life has been pretty rough the last 3.5 years. I woke up on 4-30-2015 to find my Dad not breathing. He had died that morning. No warning, just gone. He was only 60 years young. My life hasn’t been the same since that horrible day.

It’s been a struggle for my Mom who is disabled and lives on a very low monthly check each month that doesn’t even cover her rent.  I literally have no idea how she gets up and puts a smile on her face every morning.

This time last September my Mom was admitted into the hospital, had gotten Sepsis from a stone stuck in her bile duct of her gall bladder as well as having 2 bleeding ulcers, put on life support and 24/7 dialysis and my brothers and I were told she was probably not going to live through the night.  You can probably imagine the state of our minds after losing our Dad just 2 years before that.  My Mom was in the hospital for a total of 3 months. She was on life support for just about a week hooked up to a dialysis machine 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Her body was 3x it’s size. Eventually she was down to 3x a week on dialysis, had numerous blood transfusions and finally discharged after 3 months.  She had to learn how to walk again, only to get her body stronger to get her gall bladder out.  P/T, O/T and nurses came to our home 3x a week to get her stronger.  She eventually got strong enough to have her gall bladder operation.

Soon after she was released from the hospital, we lost our home of 20 years because she could no longer keep up the mortgage payments after my Dad passed away. Her faith is very, very strong and knew God would intervene.  In her heart and her daily life, God always comes first and she always believes the Holy Spirit is with her at all times.  My Mom let’s God guide her daily life and literally gives all her worries and pain to God because this is what she believes God wants all His children to do.  God did intervene and we found an apartment just in time.

Yesterday while driving home from work in very heavy everyday traffic in NJ,  I had to slam on my brakes from others doing the same in front of me.  It was too late and I was in an accident and totaled my car.  It was a much older car and paid off so we felt no need to have collision coverage on our policy.  I am not getting any money from our insurance company.  My Mom didn't care about the car, said it was a material thing. What was most important was that I was ok and not injured. My Mom’s car is very old and needs to get fixed but it gets her from point A to point B if its local.  We don't have the money to get it in the repair shop and have to keep adding power steering fluid to the car every 3-4 days which is also adding up.

My Mom is starting this Go Fund Me page to help raise money for a car so I can get to work every day.  I cannot afford to lose my job right now because we would literally be out on the streets if that happened.  I try so very hard to help my Mom out with her monthly bills as well as my own bills but I feel like I am drowning.

It takes a lot for me to reach out to people, especially people I don’t even know you.  I don’t know where else to turn.  We have no money to fall back on.  We have no resources to dip into.  I am asking for your help, whether small, medium, or large. Right now anything will help. This struggle is real folks. My goal is to get enough money raised for another used car or enough raised for a decent down payment on a new car.

I need your help in the worst way right now. I really don’t know where else to turn.
Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about my life because it was hard for me as an extremely “quiet” guy that doesn’t open up very much especially to strangers.  To actually put this out into the public about our life and current situation, took a lot of courage for me to do.  No one likes to talk about there private stuff but I feel there is no where else to turn,  except to friends and strangers that might have it in their hearts to reach out and help us.

As my Mom would say,  May God bless all of you and continue to watch over you every waking moment.
