Ricky De Los Santos Jr., May you rest in peace.

It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness, we announce the death of our beloved son
Ricky De Los Santos Jr.”AKA: RJ”
He passed away on April 6th, 2024 @ the age of 18 in San Antonio, Texas. The severity of RJ’s death has shattered my entire world! He was fatally shot & killed by his life long best friend! As they tried to control the bleeding from the gun shot wounds he sustained, RJ was able to give authorities the name of who shot him. Along with begging his Dad to “Please don’t let him die”. They where given a brief moment in time to pray together before the ambulance arrived & paramedics desperately tried to save my sons life! RJ also asked his girlfriend to call me, and that’s when my entire world began to unravel. Shortly thereafter, I received a mothers worst nightmare. RJ didn’t make it and had passed away at the hospital.
Our son was full of life, loving, kind, quick to make you laugh, always willing to help a friend in need, with a personality all his own. RJ was on his way to great things, becoming a man of his own. He informed us earlier in the week his longtime girlfriend is pregnant! (5 weeks to be exact) RJ’s excitement of fatherhood overwhelmed him with pride! Even at his young age, they began planning their future together. I will never have the opportunity to tell you Son, exactly how proud I am to be your mom, how proud I am of you, how much I love you, nor get to see you grow into the man I raised you to be.
Due to the tragic nature of RJ’s death, our family is not fully prepared to cover all the expenses that may be associated with the loss of our son. Therefore, I am reaching out to the community, friends, family & all those whom this story touches for any donations big or small, no matter the amount. If you are unable to donate at this time please repost and share.
I would like to raise $10,000 dollars. Any and all donations above and beyond that amount will go directly to RJ’s girlfriend. So she may have a healthy pregnancy, and properly grieve her loss.
We simply would like to lessen the burden our family is going threw. While we lay our son to rest. As difficult a time this is, I may have lost my son, but I also gained a daughter. I am excited to welcome new life into this world, my first grandchild.
Thank you for allowing me to share and taking the time to read a Mother’s Heartbreak.

God Bless, Bonita Medina
