This is Rick's story...
Rick fell on the morning of December 3, 2017. No one knows why he fell or why he was unable to catch himself. He fell so hard that his head hit the floor and he suffered an Epidural Hematoma or massive brain bleed.
Rick was able to drive home and have some moments of lucidity but he quickly declined and eventually lost consciousness. 911 was called and Rick was life flighted to Memorial Hermann in the Houston Medical Center.
Since that day there have been a MULTITUDE of medical treatments and interventions but Rick remains unconscious and his prognosis is poor.
Rick is a husband to Susan, his wife of 30 years, and a father to 3 adult children and 2 young grandchildren.
Rick has a servants heart and loves the Lord. He shows his love of Christ in so many ways...he serves in his church, his community and by just showing up where he is needed. He helps his wife foster unwanted dogs and he does what is needed, no questions asked. He does not care if someone "deserves" help, what the color of their skin is or socio-economic status they are or what their beliefs are. He is a servant. He loves his wife and children deeply and supports them to the fullest. His wife has medical issues herself and Rick has loved her deeply and kept her his priority because that is the man he is...
PLEASE support this family in any way you can. Rick has a long way ahead of him and the medical costs will be tremendous. This family desperately needs the prayers, love and support of their friends, family, and people around the world.
Thank you for your gifts of love and kindness. We rejoice in all that God has done thus far and know there will be so much more to Rick's story.
