Richelderfer Memorial Fund

As many of you know, our dad Martin Richelderfer passed suddenly on Monday, October 19, 2020, at his home. Along with the sadness and loss we feel, we're faced with a lot of worry and financial uncertainty. Dad worked until literally the day he died – and he died with his jeans and boots on, just as he would have wanted it. We are so incredibly proud of how hardworking and committed he was, his entire life. Dad's work ethic was admirable. His loss leaves such a huge void here on the farm. He knew everything about this place, about the house and the land and the family and the homestead and so much more. We will miss hearing his voice, his wealth of knowledge, and the stability he provided.

Donations will go toward funeral expenses as well as estate and probate costs and attorney fees. The bills are racking up by the thousands at this point. My sister and I and our families simply aren't in a position to handle this. Our household budgets were not prepared to absorb these expenses. I'm sure dad would be rolling in his grave right now. But he's not asking, I am.  So, donate only if you feel comfortable doing so. We're hoping to keep the bills paid and lights and heat on this winter as we move through the probate process. There is far more money going out than coming in and our situation is growing dire, so we're reaching out to the community for help.

His shoes will be so hard to fill. Coral and I will probably grow into them just fine. It will take some time, some help with the logistics, and some faith. But a little cushion these next few months could quite literally save us, and save the farm. Thank you for your kindness and thoughtful messages these past few days, the deliveries of food and wine, and all the support … it means the world to us right now.
