This GoFundMe account has been created in memory of our cousin, Ricardo Costa, 47 years old, to assist his family with his medical bills. Ricardo passed away on January 18, 2018, after being hospitalized for 29 days fighting against an aggressive Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Ricardo was diagnosed in 2011 with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Since then, he has completed several rounds of chemotherapy treatments every year, two forms of radiation treatments, two new drug trials, and two FDA approved target therapy drugs but sadly, all have failed him.
With every new year comes the cost of deductibles and out-of-pocket medical insurance expenses. For 2018, their deductible will be $15,000 in addition to other medical expenses not fully covered by the insurance, not to mention funeral costs. Ricardo was a good man, hard worker and not once has he refused to help anyone around him. He was a quiet and kind man, a man of integrity, a man of character, and a man of trust that has left this life as an example and a great legacy to follow. The purpose of this GoFundMe is to help offset costs associated with his hospital stay and treatments.
