RICAN-struction Hurricane Maria

Donation protected
Hello everyone:

For all of you that live far from home, I know you understand the feeling of helplessness you get when natural disasters bring destruction and death back home and you are too far away to help. This is what is happening to all Puerto Ricans and Caribbean islanders that live abroad or out of the state after Hurricane Irma and now Maria destroyed so much of what we call home. Puerto Rico and the Islands saw me grow up and it breaks my heart to see the images, videos and devastating stories these hurricanes have left. My heart is broken and I know I am not alone. But now is the time to be strong, stand up and be helpful… because when we stand together, as one, we can.

Two of the biggest hurricanes in the last 85 years of Caribbean History have left most of the islands inhabitable after the floods and loss of infrastructure. The 100% of Puerto Rico is now without electricity and entire families in the Caribbean count with no food, shelter, drinking water, access to hospitals or means of communication. THEY NEED OUR HELP and they need it NOW.

I have been researching and contacting organizations that are directly helping aid the situation, in order to ensure the money collected through this medium is used for restructuring, aiding, and feeding people that are in real need. ALL the money collected will be divided equally and sent to the following organizations:

(I'm putting the links on here, if you want to check the websites out yourself, and even donate through them directly)

United for Puerto Rico: Together Changing Paths

United for Puerto Rico is an initiative brought forth by the First lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rosselló in collaboration with the private sector, with the purpose of providing aid and support to those affected in Puerto Rico by the passage of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane María.

Banco Popular Foundation - Puerto Rico helping the islands

This fund is for aiding the Islands of Culebra, Tortola and St Thomas. Funds will be used to fleet a boat and provide first necessity items, food, water and construction material. They will also aid other organizations working on aiding the islands.

The Hurricane Maria Community Relief & Recovery Fund.

Funds will be used to support immediate relief, recovery and equitable rebuilding in Puerto Rico for low-income communities hit the hardest by the storm. This fund will support organizations working with these communities. Low-income communities often face the worst destruction and slowest recovery and have fewer resources to safeguard homes, vehicles and other property. When the winds die down and the floods recede, these communities are often forgotten by reconstruction efforts, and overlooked by insurance companies.

Providing Drinking water to the Caribbean - Purifying kits

This group of people, based in Puerto Rico, will purchase and deliver 2,592 water treatment kits (1 pallet) to Puerto Rico and then distribute them throughout the Caribbean as needed. Theses would help to at least provide drinkable water for 10,368 individuals over a year. If the kits are shared, they could potentially help purify enough water for approximately 41,000 people over a 3-month span.

These kits are quick and easy to use and will allow any person to purify their own water at home turning contaminated water into drinkable water within minutes, without the need for gas or electricity. This water purification method is proven to be 100% safe and effective.

Maria & Irma: Puerto Rico Real-time Recovery Fund

This fund is managed by the non-profit ConPRmetidos. All donations to this fund will exclusively support the victims of the catastrophic Hurricane María and Irma in Puerto Rico and provide relief and aid the communities affected by this disaster. Funds will be used first for immediate needs of food, shelter and water and then transition to long term recovery efforts.
