Riaghán's Fundraiser

In October 2020, Shannon and Eoghan received devastating news that their happy and bubbly child Riaghán has Metaschromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD).
This is a rare disorder affecting mainly the white matter of the brain causing a progressive loss of physical and mental skills. As you can imagine this is any parent's worst nightmare.
Things we take for granted will slowly be taken away from Riaghán. All the things he loves to do. Unfortunately Riaghán has already lost the ability to walk unaided. This has happened in a very short space of time. Riaghán is already symptomatic and therefore there is no treatment. He will require 24 hour care for the rest of his life. He will need a wheel chair and a cot bed in the coming weeks. He will need physio twice a week. Riaghán will have a lot of appointments and trips to Dublin which will involve over night stays.
Shannon and Eoghan are also expecting their second baby in December. On the same week they received the devastating news about their little boy Riaghan, they also received news that their baby has no spleen and there is problems with its heart and they will need to operate when the baby is born. Also this baby will have to get tested for MLD and if he/she has it they will have to start trial treatment straight away.
As you can imagine this is a very difficult time for Shannon, Eoghan and Riaghán. If we could ease the financial stress from them in any way it would really help. This would allow Riaghán journey to be as comfortable and bright as possible.
