Rhys Tamatea’s heart transplant recovery
Donation protected
A lot of you will know my Dad Rhys Tamatea but some may not know he’s been living with cardiomyopathy for the last 14 years. In the last 18 months his health has really declined to the point where there was no more they could do with medication and a heart transplant was his only option to survive. On 22nd November he got the call we’ve all been waiting for and at 10.30pm Mum and Dad raced to Sydney to prep for his transplant surgery. So far things are looking really good but it will be a long road to recovery with Mum and Dad in Sydney for a minimim of 3 months. We know it’s a tough time for everyone at the moment but we also know Dad has touched a lot of lives along the way and a lot of you will want to help in some way.
