Rally for Rhoda's Ride

For those of you who don’t know her – let me introduce you to my sister Rhoda.  Rhoda became a quadriplegic at 14 months as a result of a car accident.  She is married,  has two married daughters & a granddaughter.  She has worked hard at being independent and not focusing on her limitations.  She and her husband Ken are a very caring & giving couple.    I have never heard Rhoda complain about her lot in life; instead, I have seen her focus on what she can do.  She has been an encouragement and inspiration to others.  She has volunteered in numerous capacities; one of which was at Hattie Larlham Foundation, which services severely handicapped children.  Currently, she volunteers several days a week at their church as a receptionist. 

         I became aware of a large need of theirs and thought about the ripple effect and how much effort can multiply from many people doing a little to create a huge blessing for them.  The need is for a handicapped equipped van to continue to provide safe transportation for Rhoda to get herself to places of volunteering, doctor, grocery, etc.  Their current van and equipment has deteriorated to the point of needing replaced.  Rhoda’s independence is critical for her, as this allows her to “walk” out her Christ oriented mission of helping others.
