Rhenn’s Big Birthday (can’t) Drink (need to) Drive

Hi everyone! Most of you know my birthday is coming up. So many of you have kindly reached out to me, and have invited me out for lunch or a drink. While I greatly appreciate the invitations and would love nothing more than to get out and have some fun...it’s just not in the cards for me right now.  


I know 2020 has been a {all the explicit words} kind of year for all of us. I’m homeschooling Sophie and her speech and occupational therapy services are also being done from home via telehealth. I haven’t been able to return to work, and am still uncertain when I will be able to. Like so many of you I’ve had to make some tough choices. One of those has been about what I really need. 


I’m hoping to have the 4Runner sold by the end of the month and have about $5k to put towards a car. I’ve tried to brainstorm creative ways to work from home and around Sophie’s schedule and even how to get a loan without a job, lol. But the more I think about it, the more I realize what I don’t need is a car payment. I’d love to get something reliable and safe to get us around without the burden of a car payment while my future is still so uncertain. But the silver lining to the whole story is that I did eventually come up with a creative, out-of-the-box solution: 


If enough people bought me a $5 virtual “drink” it could actually make my birthday wish come true…


Again, I thank you all for the invitation of a get together, but for this year I have to decline. Most of all, thank you for all your warm words, thoughts and prayers. Even though I don’t always get the chance to respond to your messages and calls (I know, I’m the worst), it is always a blessing in my day to be reminded that I am surrounded by so many loving friends.
