Paul's Miracle Fund

Donation protected

My name is Jane Watanabe, my husbands name is Paul. He has been in UCLA medical center for the last month. He contracted Hepatitis C and is in liver failure. He is very sick but not sick enough to qualify to get a liver in Southern California. The only way he will receive a liver is to have someone donate it to him specifically.

Paul is Japanese and was born in a relocation camp during World War II. His parents were both born in California and put in the camp when the war broke out. His father graduated from USC in 1936. Paul went to help his parents who owned a florist shop in Pasadena. They lost the shop when they were relocated to Heart Mountain Wyoming where the relocation camp was located.

Paul's family has served this country. Paul had an Uncle, Joe Hayashi who fought in the WW II for the US. He was 24 years old at the time.  He served in the famous all Japanese Troup number 442...Joe died while serving and saving his men's lives in Tendola Italy. He and his troop were ambushed by the Germans he fought them off and saved his men. When they found Joe's body there were 2 cherished photos of Paul as a baby in his pocket.  In the year 2000 Joe was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Paul also served his country, in the Marine Reserves. We suspect Paul contracted the Hepatitis C virus when he was in the Marines. Currently we are researching this possibility. Paul and I will be married 36 years in July. We have two grown sons...Evan and Andrew. Please help us find a liver for Paul. Paul's blood type is A Positive, but a blood type of AB or O Positive will qualify and meet the criteria to bring him this miracle.  Any donations and prayers are so appreciated please don't feel obligated.
