Reunite a son with his father to say goodbye!

❤️❤️❤️

Peter Whitehead is a beloved father, step-father and grandfather. Pete was diagnosed with throat cancer in February 2020 and began chemo, then radiation treatment.

At the completion of radiation, Pete was delivered the heartbreaking news from his doctors that his cancer was still spreading and that he was now terminal. Doctors have estimated that he will have 1 - 2 years, and while we pray that he proves the doctors wrong and outlives this timeframe, we also need to be pragmatic and understand that this may not be the case.

We have witnessed Pete go from being an energetic and outgoing social person, to someone who can barely get out of bed for more than 10 minutes without being in excruciating agony.

Due to COVID, Pete has only recently in the past few months been able to spend time with his children and grandchildren that are here in Australia. However one of his son's, George, lives in NZ with his children and relocated there appx. 7 years ago.

George has 3 children and therefore, saving the funds has been difficult... We are hoping to raise funds for George to fly from NZ to Australia so he can spend time Pete before he passes. Unfortunately, the last time George and Pete saw each other was a few years ago for George's NZ wedding (pictured).

❤️❤️❤️

We have amended our original goal for this campaign to be slightly more ambitious...Our primary goal will remain:

▪️ Flying George over from NZ to spend time with Pete before it is too late.

However, we would also like to expand this to include:

▪️ Medication costs -
while discounted in Australia, the number of medications Pete is required to take daily adds up and is causing financial strain.

▪️ Making Pete more comfortable at home -
the medications Pete takes causes him to become very dizzy. He has unfortunately had a number of falls during the night when trying to get out of bed which has caused him to hit his head. We recently took apart his bed frame and now have his mattress on the floor to avoid such accidents. However, we would love to be able to secure him a proper hospital bed which will make him more comfortable and safe!

❤️❤️❤️

We know that everyone is doing it tough right now and totally understand. We are hoping that there are some people out there who have some change to spare, and may be able to donate out of generosity to reunite a father and son who have not seen each other for a number of years so they are able to say their goodbyes.

Any generosity would be welcome, even if it is a small amount.

Thank you kindly in advance for your support!
