Reunite a Mother with her Daughter

As many people know, my life has been heavily impacted by the immigration policies of this country which has resulted in me living in the United States without my parents since the age of 16. When I turned 21, I finally had the opportunity to petition for my mom’s residency but because of how expensive the process and the attorneys fees are, I have still not been able to get my mom here with me. I am at what is hopefully now the last stage of this endless hardship, but because I’m in school and only work part-time, I can’t afford to continue the legal process. 


It’s been 10 years since I’ve lived with my mom, and what many people don’t know is how hard that’s actually been for me. Everyday I’m reminded that I am here without her. It takes such an emotional toll for me not having her support, and I know that it’s been equally tough for her to not have me around. The hardest part that I think people often don’t talk about when it comes to family separation, are the small things that are missed. The birthdays and Mother’s days; I’ve graduated from high school and college and my mom hasn’t been there for either of those, and now she might not be at my master’s graduation. It’s the time that I won’t ever get back.  It would mean so much to have my mom back in the U.S. with me, which is why I’ve created this GoFundMe, to ask for your help in reuniting a mother with her daughter.
