Carries' Return to Joy Surgery Fund
Donation protected
Warmest greetings to our dear family and friends. We are reaching out for help on behalf of our little sister, Carrie. She is in desperate need of spinal surgery which is scheduled for January 9, 2018. So time is of the essence.
Carrie is 49 and a stay at home mom of two girls to whom she is completely devoted; Shelby 14 and Ashley 7. The pain she endures severely compromises her ability to be involved with her daughters’ activities. Additionally, she has been unable to work in an official capacity for more than two years due to this chronic, debilitating pain. Somehow, she does manage to provide in home care (for which she receives a small stipend) for her father-in-law who suffers with Alzheimers. (This amazes us all!) As you might imagine, each day is quite a struggle.
She has continually delayed surgery due to the high cost of deductibles, co-pays and fees. However, delay is no longer an option. The doctor has indicated, due to the damage and ongoing deterioration in her neck, even a minor mishap could cause paralysis. He recommends surgery ASAP.
“All I want in life is to be able to care for my girls and do normal things with them rather than having to tell them on a daily basis "Sorry honey, Mom is really hurting and can’t do this or that.” ~Carrie

Carrie inspires us every day through the strength and determination she exhibits in the face of such overwhelming challenges. She never complains and never asks for help.
We, as our little sisterhood, would be so grateful for any support you can provide. And, please, share this request with your network. Finally, prayers are also welcome!
This surgery will potentially give Carrie her life back. A life of hope, joy and endless possibilities for her as well as her girls.
Thank you for your generosity!
Robin McAlister and Landa Parker.
