Retracing Chinese Visits to America pre-Columbus

Based on Chinese historical records, there is a real possibility that the Chinese, like my Viking ancestors, visited America before Columbus (i.e. before 1492). 

I'm now conducting research in China, Korea, Japan, the Kuril Islands, Kamchatka, the Aleutian islands, Alaska, Canada, and the Pacific West Coast down to Mexico, to try and link China with America in ancient times.

If the academic research works out, I plan to build a replica of a Chinese vessel from before Columbus on a beach in China and sail it across the Pacific Ocean to America to further validate the theory.

It was only when two Norwegians in 1960 went to look specifically for archaeological proof of Viking visits to America in year 1000 that these proofs were found.  Until then it had all been speculation and hear say.

So far no one has looked for archaeological proof of Chinese visits to America in Ancient times in a structured and dedicated manner, so it may well exist, and it just has not been found yet.  If it exists, I aim to find it. 

If this project works out, we will have re-written the white man's History of Discovery.  If if does not work out, it will still have been a hell of an adventure.
