As this LGBT landmark heads into celebrating its 15th year next month, she is not without her scars, bruises and broken bones. Recently, owners Christa and Jonda had to start repairing the building. Since the construction has started, there have been some unforseen costs. These costs go back to the structural frame and its integrity. The ladies can only do so much of the building at a time and the new costs have surpassed their current budget.
I know they would never ask anything from their patrons and friends, so I decided to step in and take some action. This building and business have been a refuge for so many people, including myself, since it opened in 2002. I am a firm believer in taking care of those who have taken care of you and saving spaces that so many have come to know and love.
Let's lend an offering hand to these two ladies, Christa and Jonda, and the beloved Lipstick Lounge to keep our LGBT landmark standing not only for you and I, but for those who are just figuring things out.
