Restoring Mobility & Dignity for Rev Paul Brown

Hi, my name’s Charlie and I’ve started this page to urgently raise funds for my friend: the Reverend Paul Brown.

A pastor, family man, former football team chaplain at Wrexham FC and our community champion in Wibsey, Bradford. Paul has helped many but now needs our support…

Paul is a fully committed Pastor at Beacon Community Church in Wibsey, Bradford. Working alongside his wife, Claire, Paul’s involved in every aspect of our church work, pastoral care and community outreach. He takes every opportunity to share his faith and compassion and assist anyone in need.

After eighteen months of suffering from severe pain in his back, lower legs, feet and ankles, Paul received the devastating news that these issues weren’t caused by Covid-19 complications, but by Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Following his diagnosis, Paul is now living with minimal movement in his lower limbs. This is affecting everything – from driving and travelling to performing ministry. Currently restricted to living downstairs in his home, Paul is finding that basic tasks that used to be ‘normal’ like showering, resting and sitting in a chair are becoming more of a struggle.

How we can help…

Our aim is to raise £8,250 to cover immediate support that will help Paul and his family in making daily life more manageable.

Travel – Paul and Claire are leasing a new car with Motability but need funds to adapt the car to suit Paul’s needs. This is the only aspect of leasing the car that will not be covered by disability benefit payments.

Resting. A recliner/riser chair – to assist Paul in getting into and out of a seated position.

Personal. A dignity commode – for Paul’s use until he and Claire can secure more suitable accommodation.

Paul’s kindness has had a ripple effect far and wide. He's impacted so many lives, carrying us through good times and bad, and now we want to do the same for him. Whether you’re a supporter from afar or have been directly blessed by Paul and Claire, every bit of support will help us reach this target and make a huge difference to their lives.
