Please help us fight for her life!

My sister has battled eating disorders her whole life,  over 28 years! She has struggled with this demon for so long, but continues to fight!  It has taken a major toll on her health, and our family’s finances. Although Nikki has been through many hospitalizations, she has never gotten the full course of treatment needed to help her successfully beat this disease either from a lack of health insurance or its limited coverage. Cost has always been the issue.

Nine weeks ago, Nikki hit rock bottom and admitted to me that she could no longer live this way. We decided that she needed to go to the hospital, and she was admitted to Our Lady of the Lake. In the past few weeks there, her weight has continued to drop, even with increased NG tube, (Nasogastric intubation,) feedings.  Also concerning is a recent EKG that revealed a dangerously long QT wave caused from malnourishment, so Nikki’s medication had to be adjusted—a critical change in her condition.

Our prayer is that God is already preparing a place for Nikki at the treatment center that He knows is right for her. Since cost is still an issue, we are reaching out with all of our hearts for prayers and spiritual support, love offerings, and financial help. While Nikki would love to respond to all those who are texting and trying to reach her by phone, please know that she does not have access to her phone. Whatever you are able to send our way is deeply appreciated.
