Restoration of Kilcolman Rectory, Milltown, Kerry

Donation protected

There has been a Church of Ireland Rectory and Church in Milltown, Co Kerry, since 1820.  The residing Rector would have served in a number of small parishes between Castlemaine and Beaufort.

The last Rector who lived in the rectory retired twenty years ago. It was then noted that major work needed to be done.  However, it has remained vacant since and the following Rectors have had to live in rented accommodation around the area.

Included in the original Rectory was a room set aside for basic schooling for both Church of Ireland children and nearby local children. This continued until a larger school was built nearby.

A serious drive began in 2019 to restore the Rectory. However, like all construction work during the Pandemic, the work on the Rectory had to come to a halt.  Thankfully, work has resumed again but material and work-force costs have risen considerably, even though volunteers from our parishes with the necessary skills have helped.

We have already used our own funds and asked our own parishioners to contribute to the restoration, but like all projects it takes more money  to restore this sizable historic house in Milltown and make it a modern comfortable home for future generations.

We are appealing to members of the local community, and to all members of the Church of Ireland  to consider making a donation.

We are seeking contributions,  however big or small, all greatly appreciated so that we can save this historic building and provide a permanent home.
