RESTORATION - FROME DISSENTERS CEMETERY
Donation protected
The Dissenter's Cemetery at Vallis Road, Frome was established in 1851. By 1960 there were over 6000 burials. For 40 years the cemetery fell into dis repair and suffered from neglect. Plans are now in hand to repair (or replace) the Gate Pillars, the boundary wall and the chapel windows.
It is also intended that a "nature trail" be established down one side of the cemetery.
Numerous unused burial and cremation plots have been discovered and made available for use.
Amongst the burials are a number of War Graves, (10 from WW1 and 2 from WW2) as well as memorials on Family Graves to many who fell overseas.
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
