We are both proud and honored to announce that our gifted young dancers of the Restoration Dance Youth Ensemble at the Youth Arts Academy have received a truly special invitation that recognizes their excellence in the performing arts and encourages their growth as global citizens.
Our dancers have been selected to perform in Los Angeles, California!
It is with tremendous excitement that we invite you as a community to join us in helping to send 10 young artists from Bed Stuy’s very own Youth Arts Academy to perform at the 30th annual International Association of Blacks in Dance conference and festival in Los Angeles this January 2018.
This will be the first time that Youth Arts Academy students will perform outside of New York in over 5 years, and for many of our students, this will be the first time they have ever been out of the state of New York. Under the artistic direction of Ronald K. Brown and Arcell Cabuag, and the administrative direction of Ronald Alexander, this dynamic dance ensemble will perform TORCH, a choreographic work by Ronald K. Brown, dedicated to the life and memory of dancer Beth Young. We invite your generous and enthusiastic support to assure that we can send these beautiful young artists across the country for an experience that will take them closer to their dreams.
Any contribution you can offer will directly support the dancers in the form of plane tickets, conference fees, dance wear, food and housing. We are ever grateful for your consideration and wish you a warm and wonderful 2018!
