RESIST HS2: Help with eviction costs W.A.R CAMP

At 6am on Sunday 10th October the NET arrived to carry out the eviction of Wendover Active Resistance Camp. Sky Pirates and Badgers were ready and waiting in the defences lovingly built over the last year to protect the woodland of the edge of the A413 just outside Wendover. W.A.R camp has acted as a hub for activists committed to resisting HS2 since February 2020 and occupies land directly in the path of HS2's construction.

The eviction is expected to last for weeks; at least for those who are burrowed underground. By causing this logistical and financial disruption to the HS2 project we are demonstrating our disgust for this land-grabbing, ecocidal project endorsed by our government and putting out the message loud and clear that WE DO NOT WANT HS2.

HS2 is the most expensive and environmentally destructive infrastructure project in UK history. HS2 is set to destroy 108 registered ancient woodlands and almost 700 wildlife sites. As well as costing the UK taxpayer up to £200 billion, the high-speed rail project is already causing extensive and irreversible damage to the environment and will be a vast new source of carbon emissions for at least the next 120 years. And to top it all off, the UK is now the country with the lowest biodiversity in the world. We need to stop this vanity project before it is too late.
