Reshaping Oakleigh's Melon

When Oakleigh was born the first thing we noticed was she had some plagiocephaly and slight torticollis. As we had already been educated on these with both her siblings, we worked on repositioning right away. As her head continued to not change in shape (brachycephaly-flat back of the skull) I immediately contacted Cranial Technologies to get a Free evaluation.
Her first visit she was diagnosed with Severe Brachycephaly. We continued to go back every month praying and hoping for some change, but at her last visit we had no change in the right direction, she actually measured worse than the month before.
We sent our preauth to insurance to see what, if any, of a DOC Band they would cover. Our insurance covers 80%, but because a DOC Band is custom made we have to pay $1,650 upfront and later would be reimbursed the 20% difference. We have been told this could be a refund within 30-45 days or it could take the whole course of her treatment, which is estimated at 3 months. The older she is the longer she would need to wear her helmet and we may not see great improvement. So we are hoping to get her into a DOC Band within the month.
No parent should ever have to make a decision for their child to receive medical treatment or not based on if they can afford it! We are asking for help as we simply can not afford a DOC Band for Oakleigh. We are asking for the full cost of the DOC Band as we are afraid that our insurance will not cover their full amount and we will be left again with an amount we can not afford and more medical debt. Any amount over what the cost of her band is we would like to donate to others who are in our same shoes.
Why a DOC Band? It is not just a cosmetic thing. Oakleigh can have issues with her jaw later in life. Developmental delays, which we are already seeing. Issues with something as simple as a bicycle helmet not properly fitting or if she needs glasses having an issue with them properly fitting.
We know that God never gives us more than we can handle. As all three of our children have had issues with Torticollis, Plagiocephaly and Brachycephaly, this is clearly our sign to stand tall, Raise Awarenss and help others who can't afford a DOC Band for their child or children.
