Researching West Texas

We are a group of students independently organizing a student-funded trip to the desert of West Texas in order to conduct multi-focused projects surrounding the desert environment and its peoples. As a bunch of urban students who have never experienced the wide-open spaces and breathtaking vistas offered by rural West Texas, we want to simply experience the desert for its beauty and rich history.


While our dreams are big, we are limited by the costs of the trip. Unfortunately, not everyone in our group is able to afford the trip independently, and we cannot cover the expenses necessary to get everyone out to the desert to complete our projects. If we are not able to raise the money we need for the trip, we will not be able to go - missing out on the experience of seeing the desert through the lens of scholarship.


In short, we are humbly asking for money to cover food, accommodations, and travel expenses for those in our group who cannot pay for it themselves. We want to ensure that everyone has the chance to experience the desert regardless of their financial limitations. We would be so extraordinarily grateful if you would consider donating to our trip; any donations will be part of a life changing experience for us, and will contribute to our growth as scholars.
