Rescue Salukis in Need in California

Hi, my name is Dawn Carlson and I'm trying to help raise money to help fund the care for rescue Salukis. There are four female Salukis that Afghan Hound Rescue of Southern California is currently fostering. The dogs were voluntarily turned over to rescue following the passing of their owner. Unfortunately, the dogs need quite a bit of medical attention and emotional work before they are ready to be adopted. In the few short days since they have been in a new environment, they are starting to respond, but it will take a while to teach them that life can be enjoyable!

All four dogs will need basic vet care, exams, rabies shots, deworming. They will also require dental work to be done and need to be spayed. The conservative estimate for the medical costs is $1,000/dog.

Additionally, we would like to raise money to help offset the day-to-day care these four angels are receiving. Because the cost of dog food has escalated over the past year, we estimate a cost of $500/dog for general care

Here are the details on the four girls:

Sophie: Seven-year-old black & tan female – the self-proclaimed boss. Sweet and getting more friendly each day.

Cher: Seven-year-old liver pigmented gold female – shy but wants to be petted and loved, just too worried so far to allow herself to enjoy her new freedom. Sweet girl.

Alice: Ten-year-old irish marked black fringed red female – she walks happily on a leash but can be a little dicey around her sister Sophie, but is most likely fear based at this time.

Maddie: Seven-year-old liver pigmented gold female – sweet and very shy
