Replace My Service Dog, Killed in Auto Accident

On Sunday, October 13, 2019, we were involved in an auto accident.  My car swerved and hit a telephone pole, breaking it in half from top to bottom and then finally stopped after hitting two trees.  My fiancée, Carrie, was a passenger, as well as my Service Dog, Yadier, and her Service Dog in Training, Randy.   I was left with a Traumatic brain injury and 40 staples across my forehead and scalp, along with a black eye and brain bleeds.  Carrie was left with many contusions and bruises.  

After the jaws of life we’re used, the dogs were unattached and released from the car.  Both dogs ran off.  Randy was found two days later by a someone local.  Unfortunately, an Animal Control Agent notified Carrie at the scene that a car was speeding too fast and hit Yadi, killing him instantly.  I was unconscious after the impact and Carrie pulled me from the car to my safety, as we had two propane tanks in the back of my van, which is now totaled. We are still trying to find out who the driver who hit Yadi was.

Since I can’t safely navigate the community without a Service Dog after my breast cancer, chemo and disabilities related to those treatments, and I live on fixed disability income, I am starting a GoFundMe page to obtain and train another Service Dog for me, as well as cover some of my upcoming concussion care therapies to get me back on my feet that not paid for by my personal injury protection of my auto policy. While no dog could ever replace Yadi in my heart, another one will ensure my medical and physical safety when out and about.
