Replace Amelia's Van(home) after Nashville Storm

Donación protegida
Hi, my name is Zachary Munn, and I've had the pleasure of getting to know Amelia over the past few weeks. While I've only known her for this short time, I've seen her for months on a corner near my home, waving her American flag, smiling, and spreading joy to passers bye. Finally, I took the time to stop and talk with her. I was humbled and very touched by her story and left feeling grateful for the conversation we shared. I came to find out she'd been living out of her van for quite some time... yet the joy, hope, and gratitude in her heart exceeded her living conditions. I went home that night and cooked her a steak dinner knowing she hadn't had a home-cooked meal in weeks if not months. Since then, I have prepared a few meals for two so Amelia could enjoy the same foods I myself am so blessed to have. We've also just talked about life for hours and shared in prayer on a couple of occasions. On March 3rd, Nashville took on a brutal wind storm that knocked down trees and shut the power down for hundreds of thousands of residents, including myself. The next morning I received photos from Amelia of the van she lives out of... it was utterly destroyed by the storm.

Firstly, thank God she was physically unharmed other than a few small glass shards getting onto her skin. I was so surprised to find out this happened as she was just driving down the road. It truly could have been anyone. The hardest part of this is that this van is Amelia's home with all her belongings. She has no place to go and even stayed in her van with her belongings in the cold that night. She didn't know what else to do. My first mission was to get to her asap and get these windows closed off to help her stay safer and warmer.

As of last night, I got her van sealed off so she would be better protected from the environment. The problem is, as I type this, she is sitting in her battered van with her glass-covered belongings, unable to do anything but wait for some kind of miracle. I told her I would do my best, and both her and I believe that a miracle will happen.

Please come together with me to get Amelia another van she so desperately needs. She truly deserves so much and is doing her best each day. Because of multiple tares in her knees and ankle injury, she is unable to stand for long periods of time so she hasn't been able to work. She is smart with her money, pays her phone bill, car insurance, takes care of herself the best she can, and puts on a smile each day. Despite all her efforts to get into a better situation, the world isn't always a forgiving place and she has truly fallen on hard times.
