repairs for damages caused to RJFC pitches
We are devastated. Over £40k has been invested into these pitches & they decide they can threaten members of our Committee & break the locks to gain entry....
It is with great sadness that we report that Travellers have forced their way onto our main facility at Carr Green today, breaking the padlock to gain entry. The police were called and responded almost instantly.
Within the first hour of the forced entry, there are now many caravans, cars & quad bikes tearing up our pitches.
We've recently invested tens of thousands into improving the standard of the playing surface, so this is very much a soul-destroying situation for everyone.
The process of having them removed from the land has begun, but apparently can take days and weeks.
We encourage everyone in the local community to stay away from the football fields until they have gone, and advise people NOT to approach them in any way.
As a not-for-profit organisation we have limited resources to repair the damage, but we know that everyone in the community will come together to help us recover thank you all in advance for your contributions.
