The passing of my dear friend and man whom I will always think of as my brother has left behind a deep wound in me and those who knew him.
Bruce, better known as Joe, was a former U.S. Marine who enlisted during the Vietnam War. After Joe's service in the Marines, he married and started his family having one son, Bruce Jr. and three daughters, Lia, Nicole and Roxanne.

Joe worked at a textile mill for twenty some years to support his family. He was a dedicated worker and always looking at ways to improve the process. His son Bruce Jr. was born deaf and also needed open heart surgery at the age of one. He has been disabled his entire life, but with having a dedicated father and making sacrifices for his family, Bruce Jr. graduated from the R.I. school for the deaf as Valedictorian. He lived with his dad and was lovingly taken care of. For the past six years his mom came back into their lives although not in good health herself as she's recently encountered two heart attacks. She remained by Joe's side with his entire battle with cancer while recovering from her own medical issues.

After the textile mill closed, Joe went to school for computers although he found it wasn't for him. He was then hired as an oil technician for a local company where he worked for 13 years. He was then diagnosed with throat cancer and went through 7 weeks of radiation and chemo therapy.

While he was out on short term disability, his employer sent him a letter notifying him his disability had run out and he was terminated. Without the necessary income to make ends meet his home fell into disrepair where the attached garage roof caved in causing leaks and mold issues in the home.

Joe was always a prideful person and wouldn't seek help or assistance from anyone. He lived his life as honest and honorable as any person can. Joe was my best friend and always gave more than he received. His family needs assistance at this time to remain in their home and to be safe. I'm asking everyone to please donate to the cause as I'm trying to raise $30,000 dollars for the immediate repairs necessary to make this home safe to live in for Bruce Jr. and his mom.

I personally will be donating all my labor to run and oversee the project, not taking any of the proceeds and I urge everyone to please have a heart to help my best friends family .

Thank you and God Bless!!
