Repair the Arcata Scout Hut

Donation protected
The beloved Scout Hut in Redwood Park was broken into and vandalized during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Normally, the Scout Hut hosts Cub Scout and Scouts BSA meetings every night and serves 50-75 youth from Arcata, McKinleyville, Blue Lake, and Eureka each week.  Since Covid-19, the scouts can not use the Scout Hut.

Taking advantage of its isolation during the pandemic and shelter-in-place order, someone broke in and trashed the Scout hut.  Windows are broken, graffiti is everywhere, camp supplies were looted, popcorn used to fundraise was stolen, and they left a giant mess behind.  The pictures in the Mad River Union Story show part of the damage.  The kids are heart broken.  They love the Scout Hut, and it has been trashed.

Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to help repair the Scout Hut and benefit Pack 95 Cub Scouts and Troop 15 Boy Scouts, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this local gem in Redwood park that means so much to so many.

We are currently waiting for the Scout Hut to be disinfected and then we will be working in socially distant shifts to start the cleanup process.  We will use the funds to paint over all the graffiti (basically every wall and floor will need to be painted), replace the broken window, repair the broken toilet, replace broken or soiled furniture,  & replace stolen camp supplies.

Maybe, if we all come together, we can make this into a story of the power of humanity during the Covid crisis!  Do a good turn today and help out the Scouts!

Thanks!
