Repair George Square Benches Accidently Damaged

Donation protected
Rangers Football Club celebrated their World Record 55th League Championship yesterday! For a football club to have come through so much and emerge to again become the Kings of Scottish Football is a remarkable achievement.

The Rangers Support have been with the club all the way and it was to be expected that there would be joyous celebrations to follow. During these celebrations, there appears to have been accidental damage to a small number of memorial benches in George Square. This, whilst clearly unintentional, is not something the Rangers Support would like to have seen done and as a result, we are fundraising to replace these benches as a true and sincere gesture of respect.

If there are any additional funds raised we will donate them to the Anthony Nolan Charity which helps save the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders. If you are aged between 16-30 you can also help by joining their donation register https://www.anthonynolan.org/8-ways-you-could-save-life/donate-your-stem-cells

Update:
Hi all,

To confirm we have a final total raised of £10410.

Glasgow City Council have worked with us and provided an invoice totalling £5467.71 that covers all associated works for any damage, repairs and replacement for the memorial benches at George Square.

We have teamed up with John White who created another fundraiser at the same time and will be splitting the invoice.

As a result we will pay £2734.71 to GCC and Go Fund Me charge transactions fees totalling £506.14.  The remainder of £7169.15 will go to Anthony Nolan. Absolutely amazing.

The charity choice was inspired by a local Glasgow Glasgow boy Arlo McArthur. Arlo is only 3 and needs a life saving stem cell transplant. As a result of this fundraiser we, The Rangers Support, have helped raise awareness and also increased registrations to donate.

If you are male and aged 18-30 you could save his life.

A simple 30 second cheek swab will tell you if you are a match.  Please click the link below to register
