Reopening Ghanaian Primary School after Corona

Being locked-in again has brought back the feeling of wanting to help, but not knowing how.

Well luckily we knew of some people that could use some concrete help starting up after Corona:
The primary school kids of the New Destin Education Centre in Ghana, who are in need of a reopening of their school.
Luckily we were able to gather a group of highly motivated people willing to get running in the cold for them - so here we are!

The New Destin Education Center in Kumasi, Ghana, is a primary school. Approximately 150 children used to attend this school. Due to the coronacrisis, the children were obliged to stay home. The city of Kumasi went into lockdown, and a lot of people lost their jobs. Consequently, many families of these children returned to their little villages throughout Ghana. Since March, the children have not been able to attend school.
Luckily, the government has announced that this January the schools will reopen. Nevertheless, a substantial amount of money is needed to restore the school. This is even harder than before due to the situation of the families. In order to help this school to reopen, we started this fundraising with a group of 10 friends. With the 10 of us, we are aiming at raising enough money for the children to attend their school again. For this, practical learning materials and playing materials are needed.
Additionally, a stable internet connection would make it much easier for the school to keep up with the national education levels. Moreover, the children learn a lot from visits to educational sites, for which money would be very welcome as well. All these small projects together can create a qualitative educational environment by which the children can develop themselves and get a fair opportunity in life.
In order to reach this goal, we will run 21,2 km, or half a marathon, on the 20th of March. We ask you to help us by donating an amount of money which you could miss. The children will be incredibly thankful for your help.
