Rene’s Reno’s

We are looking to raise funds to help my brother Rene Gisler in renovating his new apartment. Recently he was given the opportunity by Community Living North Bay to have his own apartment in the lower level of a 24 hour group home to increase his independence and yes all those who know Rene would agree he was very excited !! 
Renovations were to be done to accommodate his special needs but unfortunately 2 weeks before moving in we were told they could not be completed due to lack of funds in the budget. Rene definitely did not want to lose out on this opportunity so we decided to take the apartment in the hopes of raising some funds to get the renovations started. 
The renovations include a tub to accommodate his needs as there is a stand up shower with a lip on the bottom and even after speaking to O.T it was deemed impossible for him to safely enter and exit the shower. Also the installation of automatic door openers on his apartment door for him to enter and exit independently.
  Presently in order for Rene to bathe, he needs to exit his apartment at the back and go up a ramp, then proceed down the side of his semi, around the front to the other side of the semi, up another ramp where he enters and can use his  neighbors tub. This situation is working for now but once the winter months come this will become more difficult !! 
Rene is able to open the door to his apartment but unable to close it without support and once outside he is unable to open the door to get back in. 
We are hoping to raise enough funds to put in a raised tub for his lift to fit under and automatic doors so he can exit and enter independently.
