Renee's Medical Emergency

On Friday night, October 9th, my Momma had a traumatic accident in which 1 liter of boiling hot water spilled onto her lower body. She was sent by ambulance to the hospital where she was treated initially. She was diagnosed with 2nd (with some areas of 3rd) degree burns over 30% of her body. She has large areas of burns on her upper legs, lower legs & right foot. During her ER stay, she received several liters of IV fluids to help stabilize her as well as several doses of very potent IV narcotics to ease the massive pain. She was discharged to home after many hours in the ER & is to follow up with a surgery group later this week. We will provide updates as we know more once she is seen by the surgery group. We simply don't know what lies ahead. Infection is a huge concern right now.

At this time, my Momma is requiring dressing changes to all of the burns multiple times a day.  The daily cost for the medical supplies needed for the dressing changes alone is very expensive & we face many weeks ahead of needing these supplies. We are in urgent need of funds to help with these medical supplies along with help towards the hospital & surgery costs. At the time of the accident, my precious Momma was not insured, so you can see that our situation is desperate. 

My Momma worked for many years as an RN & provided excellent care to her patients. Now, she is the one needing help from others. Please help me take care of my Momma's needs.
